The Mexican Border Defense Medal recognizes eligible U.S. service members who support designated military operations along the U.S.-Mexico border in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Available for all U.S. military services, the medal is worn between the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Service Medal.
