Frequently Asked Questions

US Space Force Ribbons and Medals
What are thin ribbons?

Thin ribbons are lightweight versions of standard military ribbons. They are mounted on a thinner backing, making them easier to attach to uniforms and more comfortable to wear. Thin ribbons look identical to standard ribbons but are lighter and sit flatter on the uniform. SuperThin Ribbons carries thin ribbons for all U.S. military branches including Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force.

How do I build a military ribbon rack?

To build a military ribbon rack, list all your earned ribbons in order of precedence for your branch. Arrange them from highest to lowest honor, right to left, top to bottom. Each branch has its own order of precedence regulated by the U.S. Department of Defense. SuperThin Ribbons offers a ribbon rack builder that configures your rack automatically and ships it mounted and ready to wear.

What is the order of precedence for Army ribbons?

Army ribbons are worn in order of precedence set by the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry. The Medal of Honor ribbon comes first, followed by service crosses, distinguished service medals, and then campaign and service ribbons. Unit awards and foreign decorations follow. SuperThin Ribbons mounts every Army ribbon rack per official U.S. Army Uniform Regulations.

What is the difference between full size and miniature medals?

Full size medals are worn on dress uniforms for formal ceremonies. Miniature medals are smaller versions worn on mess dress or civilian attire at formal evening events. Both follow U.S. Military Uniform Regulations for placement and order of precedence. SuperThin Ribbons carries both full size and miniature medal sets for all branches, mounted and ready to wear.

I have purchased several Navy ribbon racks, large medal racks, and small medal racks over the past 20 years and have always been impressed by the build quality. The ribbons and medals clearly stand out in a crowd and look incredible. Service and shipping has always been prompt and the professional look of the product is beyond reproach. My go-to company for ribbons and medals.

Great customer service. The post office lost my package and they got me a replacement set fast, and it looks great.

Ordered from them while TDY and got my rack in a timely fashion. Payed great attention to detail on what ribbons I will be needing so that I wouldn’t have to re-purchase 6 months later. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
