The Vietnam Service Medal Ribbon was awarded to the United States Armed Forces members who served in Vietnam and its adjacent waters or airspace from 3 July 1965 to 28 March 1973. The medal is also awarded to U.S. personnel who directly support operations in Vietnam while being in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos through airspace. The yellow ribbon features three thin vertical red stripes towards the middle at equal distances and a thin vertical green stripe at the end of each edge.
