United Nations Operations in Haiti Medal

The United Nations Mission in Haiti (UNMIH) Medal is presented by the United Nations for service in the mission providing peacekeeping in Haiti from September 1993 – June 1996, after rebel forces overthrew the elected government. The mandate involved the establishment of a new Haitian police force and modernization of the Haitian Armed forces. Those participating in subsequent missions replacing the original UNMIH are also eligible for this award.
