Global War On Terrorism Service (GWOTS) Medal

The United States Department of Defense presents the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal Ribbon to those United States Military members who served at least 30 days of consecutive service or 60 days of non-consecutive period for service in the United States Military for support or counter-terrorism from being in the United States or overseas. The military personnel who are eligible to receive this medal should have participated in the following operations:

Operations at Airport Security – 27 September 2001 to 31 May 2002.
Operation Noble Eagle – 11 September 2001 to TBD.
Operation Enduring Freedom – 11 September 2001 to 28 December 2014.
Operation Iraqi Freedom – 19 March 2003 to 31 August 2010.
New Dawn Operation – 1 September 2010 to 31 December 2011.
Observant Compass Operation – 1 October 2011 to 30 September 2017.
Operation Inherent Resolve – 15 June 2014 to TBD.
Operation Freedom’s Sentinel – 1 January 2015 to 30 August 2021.
Operation Odyssey Lightning – 1 August 2016 to 17 January 2017.
Operation Pacific Eagle – 5 October 2017 to TBD.

The ribbon is dark blue with one vertical stripe of white, dark blue, red, yellow, and dark blue proceeding outward on each end.
