Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal

The Coast Guard Distinguished Service Medal is awarded specifically to Coast Guardsmen who distinguish themselves with meritorious service towards the U.S. Government. This is awarded to senior flag officers as commandants of the coast guard. The ribbon is blue with thin white stripes moving vertically, followed by a thicker purple stripe.
