The Purple Heart (PH) Medal is awarded to those wounded or killed while serving the United States Military on or after 5th April 1917. The death or injuries caused by friendly fire. The Medal is in the shape of a heart and purple enamel at the center, with an image of George Washington at the center of the purple enamel. At the top is a white shield with red stars and white stripes flanked by laurel springs.
