The United States Department of Army presents the Army Service Ribbon to that active military personnel who have completed advanced individual training. This ribbon was first awarded on August 1, 1981. The ribbon is bisected at the center by a thick vertical stripe of indigo flanked by green, yellow, orange, and red vertical stripes proceeding toward the edge.
